About Nexus-Onarga Family Healing – Onarga
Nexus–Onarga Academy is a behavioral and mental health care facility for adolescents in Onarga, Illinois. They provide dual diagnosis care, residential treatment, and aftercare planning and support for teens and their families. Their primary treatment modalities combine psychotherapy with evidence based complementary care and recovery focused life skills training.
Nexus–Onarga Academy, in Onarga, Illinois, provides intensive inpatient care for adolescents experiencing mental illness, behavioral disorders, and/or addiction. They offer dedicated services for justice involved adolescents.
The residential program at Nexus–Onarga Academy allows clients and their families to focus on recovery in a private, home like setting. Clients receive medical and mental health assessments, individualized treatment plans, and comprehensive case management. They also engage in intensive, trauma informed individual, group, and family counseling using CBT and motivational interviewing approaches. They also emphasize recovery focused life skills training, including courses in coping, wellness, self care, problem solving, communication, emotional regulation, anger and stress management, and relapse prevention. Younger clients may attend the accredited, on campus day school and older adolescents are eligible for academic programs, vocational training, and employment assistance.
The aftercare services at Nexus–Onarga Academy are designed to support clients’ long term recovery and their successful reintegration into their homes, families, communities, schools, and workplaces. Peer coaching, legal aid, community based recovery program induction, and referrals for medical, mental health, and social services are available.
Nexus–Onarga Academy is state licensed and SAMHSA accredited. They accept Medicaid and self pay.
