About NFI North – Oliver Place – Bath
NFI North – Oliver’s Place in Bath, Maine, was established in 1997 after a redesign of the historic Bath Children’s Home. This nonprofit organization helps support youth as they get ready for adulthood. They serve clients aged 13-20. Here, they provide residential treatment for mental and behavioral health services for youth. Youth also receive six months of aftercare services following their stay at Oliver’s Place.
This location is part of The Joint Commission accredited NFI North organization that supports communities across Maine and New Hampshire. They provide various programs and support services to children, adults and families.
At Oliver’s Place, youth can get residential mental health treatment. Residents live in a co-ed residential home that accommodates six youths. I like how small the number of participants is so that staff can give each person the individualized care and attention they need.
During their time in Oliver’s Place, youth will learn how to manage their mental health and behavioral health symptoms. The goal is to prepare them for independent living. Once they leave, Oliver’s Place staff provide six months of aftercare to ensure that each resident successfully transitions back into their community.
Oliver’s Place offers a holistic program for young people that is trauma informed, engaging and culturally and linguistically competent. They ensure that each youth has a say in their treatment plan and goals. Residents get access to a full scope of treatment options that suit their individual strengths.
Staff at this residential facility include teams of teachers, therapists and other support professionals. They also include family members as active participants and supporters.
