About Nicasa – Buffalo Grove
Established in 1966, Nicasa in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, provides drug, alcohol and gambling disorder services to adults and young people. Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and a member of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), they accept Medicaid and most commercial insurances. Their services are available in both English and Spanish.
For youths aged 12 to 18, they offer both outpatient and intensive outpatient programs with a focus on responsibility and problem solving skills. Through education, life skills training and early intervention they aim to teach young people about the risks of substance use. Their gambling program promotes responsible decision making and online safety. Individual and group counseling are provided both in person and through telehealth.
Gambling services are also offered for adults, with access to a certified financial counselor and blocking software to restrict online gaming. They have an app to allow you to set and track your goals for recovery. With flexible appointments including evenings and weekends, they strive to meet you at whatever stage you’re in by providing outpatient care that’s meant to fit into your lifestyle and schedule.
Created in 1972, Bridge House is Nacasa’s co-ed recovery home. Residents are required to find a job, build a recovery network and connect with a sponsor and the local community. They offer counseling and recovery support meetings in addition to programs like nutritional counseling and a family involvement series. Recreational activities such as the Art Impact Project are provided, plus they offer workshops and seminars in human development.
