About Northeastern Center – Angola
Northeastern Center provides intensive outpatient services for adults struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. The program serves residents of Angola in Steuben County, Indiana. This program provides a similar professional level of treatment as inpatient care without requiring you to give up your job or leave home.
Treatment is provided in a supportive environment where you can learn about the disease of addiction, the value of a sober support system and potential relapse triggers. Priority treatment is given to IV drug users, pregnant women and mothers with minor children.
The program starts with a comprehensive assessment and individual treatment planning to ensure treatment is tailored to your needs. The recovery approach involves two phases. The first phase focuses on the main issues of chemical dependency or addictive behavior and how to manage them to achieve lasting recovery. This may involve ongoing assessment, individual counseling and group therapy with emphasis on life skill building and relapse prevention.
The second phase equips you with advanced relapse prevention skills and resources. Ideally, this phase will involve participation in self-help groups, personalized relapse prevention plans and the development of solid coping skills, including stress and anger management. You’ll also receive education on addiction and managing triggers.
Employer and family involvement is emphasized in both phases. Services also include medication evaluation/monitoring, drug screening and case management. Their onsite case manager case provides care coordination and can connect you to community resources that support your recovery.
This may include essential services like housing, employment and educational programs. Day and evening group sessions are available for convenience. Transportation is provided for the evening sessions. Comments from clients reflect mixed experiences.
