About Northern Utah Counseling – Clearfield
Northern Utah Counseling was located in West Valley City, Utah, where they were contracted with the Department of Child and Family Services, Division of Work for Services, and Juvenile Services to provide various mental health and substance use disorder treatment. They used a treatment approach that included evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy in individual, family, and group settings alongside holistic treatment like art therapy, expressive arts and sand play. They worked with insurance providers, including Medicaid, Medicare, and TRICARE. They also accepted self pay.
The counseling clinic provided services that included medication management, life skills building, recreational therapy and play therapy. For clients who had been incarcerated, they also offered court ordered services by the local and state courts. This included alcohol and substance abuse assessments to determine your needs and ensure you received appropriate resources. If your treatment was court ordered, a copy of the assessment was provided to the court. They also offered a program that addressed drug and alcohol abuse education and another that provided domestic violence recovery alongside substance abuse.
The day treatment program was available for children ages 5 to 12 who had severe emotional or behavioral disturbances. This is sometimes a secondary effect of a parent with substance use disorder. Their life skills building resources helped generate change and led to positive behaviors so you could meet everyday challenges. This combination of treatment options was offered to raise your success in achieving sobriety and long-term recovery.
