About Northland Recovery Center – Grand Rapids
Northland Recovery Center is a drug and alcohol rehab facility located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They are an inpatient and outpatient facility that treats people for substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder. They treat people who suffer with both addiction issues and mental health disorders.
When you enter, you will receive a drug test to determine the level of drugs in your system. You will also get a full psychological evaluation. This will determine if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder. They will also ask you about childhood issues and any problems you have with relationships as an adult.
If you have a large amount of drugs in your system, you will go through detox. They have a medical staff that will monitor you and provide you with medication assisted treatment if it is needed.
Their inpatient program includes education about the effects of substances on your body. Counseling focuses on the emotional and spiritual effects drugs have on your body. You will be treated with group and individual therapy. Families are also invited to participate in sessions.
The inpatient service includes a bed and three meals a day. There are some recreational activities as well. Inpatient treatment is gender specific and so are many of the group therapy sessions.
Once inpatient treatment is over you will have therapy on an outpatient basis. You will come in as often as you and your therapist feel it is necessary. They have a Phase II relapse prevention program that you can participate in once you have finished outpatient therapy. It will include weekly peer support groups.
