About Northwood Health Systems – New Martinsville
Northwood Health Systems is a nonprofit organization that provides behavioral health services in New Martinsville, West Virginia. They can also refer individuals with severe substance use disorder to their Wheeling Clinic that offers detox services and an intensive outpatient program (IOP).
The New Martinsville Clinic can perform a psychiatric and psychological evaluation to determine your mental health needs. Clients can receive therapy and mental health disorder medication to address symptoms that may be causing their substance use disorders.
You may be prescribed medications such as mood stabilizers or antidepressants to minimize symptoms of depression or anxiety. The facility also offers medication management services to make sure the dosage you’re taking is effective at treating your symptoms.
Addiction can sometimes persist even after treating a client’s mental illness. With moderate to severe cases of substance use disorder, clients can be referred to Northwood Health Systems’ facility in Wheeling.
Northwood Health Systems offers detox in the crisis stabilization unit located at their Wheeling Clinic. You’ll receive 24 hour care along with intensive individual and group therapy. After you complete detox you can move forward with IOPs and receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).
In between your treatment sessions, you can take a short trip across the Ohio border and visit Kiedaisch Point Park. It’s a great spot to go on a hike and get a nice view of New Martinsville and the Ohio River.
