About Nuestra Clinica – Lancaster
Known for the nation’s oldest and largest Amish communities, Lancaster, Pennsylvania also features SACA’s Nuestra Clinica. Since 1973, this outpatient center has provided social, economic and human services for people in marginalized communities particularly the Latino population. You can access an inviting and culturally competent space to work on recovery.
Outpatient care allows you to live at home and attend treatment. You can access proven therapeutic interventions in English and Spanish, including group and individual counseling, case management services, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) with Vivitrol or Suboxone.
For me, their multicultural approach really stood out. With people in the Latin community making up almost 40% of Lancaster’s population, the need for culturally and linguistically responsive addiction and mental health services was evident.
They fill this gap, providing multiple services to remove treatment barriers while restoring and uplifting the community. Additionally, their staff is made up of diverse ethnicities and bilingual speakers. That way you can receive empathetic care from people who understand you and your situation.
Another wonderful feature I noticed was their other key focuses, particularly workforce development. They understand that getting back on your feet after rehab comes with many hurdles, which is why they have Tec Centro, which is also located in Lancaster. They provide bilingual education and skills training and have a partnership with Harcum College to help you get focused education for a specific career.
You can also access resume and job application assistance as well as job referrals and job fairs. While finding employment isn’t guaranteed their dedicated team does everything they can to give you the best shot.
