About NYC TASC – EAC Network – Boerum Hill
NYC TASC – EAC Network in Brooklyn, New York is part of the EAC network. This network comprises various social service agencies that empower, assist and care for socially disadvantaged individuals across Long Island and New York City. Brooklyn TASC provides alternative solutions to incarceration for offenders struggling with substance use disorder.
This program focuses on diverting clients with substance abuse problems out of the criminal justice system and into a treatment facility. At the same time, they provide monitoring services as a supplement to criminal justice supervision. TASC’s case management creates a unique connection between the criminal justice system, rehabilitation services and the client.
This allows for effective and efficient outcomes that satisfy all parties involved. The TASC model begins with identifying the drug or alcohol involved and identifying any mental illness in clients. The idea is to determine if they qualify for referral by the criminal justice system into the TASC case management system.
A comprehensive assessment and screening of the client’s behavioral health needs are then conducted. The client is then referred to the appropriate rehabilitation facility or treatment placement. Subsequently, TASC maintains ongoing case management via reporting, urine monitoring and ancillary requirements. This ensures compliance with criminal justice orders and treatment plans.
