About Odyssey House – Lafayette Program – Hunts Point
Home to the New York Yankees, Bronx, New York also features Odyssey House’s Lafayette Program. You can receive a comprehensive blend of primary and behavioral health services to meet you at any recovery stage. They welcome youths, adults, seniors, and families by providing targeted care to overcome addiction, mental health conditions, and homelessness.
You’ll benefit from a holistic healing approach that prioritizes your recovery needs. Whether you need 24/7 continuous care or can live at home and attend treatment, they have an option for you. Recovery coaching, peer support, health and wellness approaches, harm reduction services, medical and dental care, group and individual therapy, and much more are available.
What is notable to me the most is their ElderCare residential program. People aged 55 and older can participate in targeted substance abuse and mental health treatment. You’ll benefit from empathetic support from a mature staff with geriatric care experience.
They provide age appropriate group treatment, fitness, cultural, and recreational activities, Seeking Safety, cognitive behavioral therapy, and more. I think this is awesome because many older adults are at risk of isolation and loneliness. You’ll have a supportive space for healing with people you resonate with.
Another standout feature I noticed was their employment assistance and job training services. As part of their residential program, you can access job skills training, educational services, and job placement assistance. They help you secure and maintain stable employment to fuel your recovery journey. Comprehensive assessments, ongoing vocational and educational tests, and Adult Basic Education services are also available.
It’s neat that the Lafayette House is next door to the Hunts Point Recreation Center. You can play sports, exercise, and just stretch your legs between sessions. That way, you can find healthier ways to cope that don’t include drugs.
I also think it’s nice that they have flexible payment options. They’re in network with most major insurance providers, New York State Medicaid, and manage care plans.
Even if you don’t have insurance, they can help you apply for coverage. If you’re not eligible, they adjust your fees based on your ability to pay. That way, finances won’t get in the way of getting the help you need.
