About Ogeechee Behavioral Health – Waynesboro
Just 30 miles outside of Augusta lies the Community Service Board of Middle Georgia in Waynesboro, Georgia. Formerly known as Ogeechee Behavioral Health, this outpatient center provides comprehensive care for adults and youth battling substance use disorder. Established in 1966, they’ve grown to serve thousands of Georgia residents across 16 counties.
What stands out most to me is their emphasis on peer support. The RISEUP program is a free peer-based service that enhances the support you have during recovery. They understand that addiction can be isolating and fostering a solid sober community can promote long-term recovery.
They provide multiple options for outpatient care, including the Step One Recovery Center weekly 5-day program, individual sessions, and night groups. You can access a personalized treatment plan that puts your recovery needs at the forefront. They offer proven therapeutic interventions, tools, and resources to help you get to the root of addiction and develop essential recovery skills. You’ll also benefit from relapse prevention planning and ongoing support from their compassionate team.
Another great feature is their night groups. They ensure you can fit treatment into your schedule with evening sessions. These three hour groups focus on building and nurturing individual strengths and recovery progress. You’ll receive connections to self help opportunities and natural support to enhance your journey. You will also get therapeutic counseling.
I think my favorite part about this night track is their social skill building and leisure activities. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with peers and indulge in sober fun while practicing and reinforcing your new skills.
