About OnCall Health Living Program – Northampton
Previously known as OnCall Urgent Care, the OnCall Healthy Living Program is a part time opioid and alcohol addiction treatment facility for adults in Northampton, Massachusetts. You’ll find them across the road from the Cooley Dickinson Hospital, near Childs Park.
Your treatment will be on an appointment basis, allowing you to keep up with regular commitments. This type of recovery is ideal for those who aren’t able to be away from home or take time off work.
An aspect of treatment here that stands out to me is that they understand how the window for recovery is typically small. The courage to get help can wane over weeks of waiting. They do everything they can to get people into treatment as soon as possible by taking new clients in on the same day or the following day.
As they view addictions as a chronic brain disease, they follow a harm reduction protocol. They offer addiction medications excluding methadone. Medications calm your body’s physical response to being off drugs. This leaves you free to focus on learning coping skills and relapse prevention techniques.
If you need to do a DOT evaluation they have certified providers to do the physical examinations required by the Department of Transportation. They’ll do a thorough check up including urinalysis.
Northampton is a beautiful city for recovery with its blend of rural landscapes and modern convenience. I love that you’ll be treated with compassion, understanding and respect. With the right people in your corner, your life can be different.
