They also offer an outpatient Offender Success Program for men coming out of the justice system as well as emergency shelter, transitional housing, and independent living facilities. They provide case management and help connecting with social services.
The residential program lasts 45 to 90 days. There are also onsite AA and NA meetings. Referrals are made by the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network and the Bureau of Substance Use Disorder.
OGD also provides support to men released from the Michigan Department of Corrections. In addition to individual and group therapy, clients get assistance with getting an ID, referrals to appropriate social services, and housing and employment services. The goal is to help men transition from the justice system to the community successfully.
The temporary residency program for homeless or at-risk individuals can last up to 24 months. Participating men agree to be drug-free and get the same support as the other clients. OGD also offers a 24/7 emergency shelter which includes 3 meals and various community resources.
OGD is a CARF-accredited facility. They may accept a wide range of insurance plans, such as Humana, Ambetter, Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, and more. Because insurance plans vary, be sure to verify coverage information and out of network details with the insurer.
