About ORCA House – Cleveland
Orca House is a CARF accredited mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) residential treatment facility for adults in Cleveland, Ohio. This center is set up to help those who suffer from co-occurring SUD and endocarditis (heart valve inflammation). They have recently moved to a newly renovated building offering more accommodations. You can receive services based on a sliding scale for fees.
This facility has the capability to serve 36 clients. The mental health facility will have 16 beds, and the substance use treatment facility will have 20 beds. This facility will have staffed doctors, nurses, clinicians and psychiatrists.
A typical stay here will be 30, 60, or 90 days, depending on your needs. You will attend intense therapy daily. You will meet with a case manager to determine your needs and treatment. They use evidence-based treatments to help you on your journey to recovery.
A unique element about this center is they treat endocarditis, which is a heart condition that is often caused by the use of IV drugs without proper sterilization that sends bacteria to the heart. This is the only treatment center in Ohio that treats this condition. This may be the only treatment center in the US that is set up to treat this condition. They also continue treating you after you have left the residential facility.
This facility has medication assisted treatment (MAT) as needed. MAT uses medication to help you detox without severe withdrawal and helps curb the cravings for your drug of choice. Medication assisted treatment is meant to help you in combination with counseling and addiction recovery therapy.
