About Oxford House Snowheights – Albuquerque
Oxford House Inc. is a nonprofit umbrella organization that runs self-supportive housing for men who have stopped using and want to stay sober. They have many locations across the state and are democratically run. Oxford House Snowheights in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a seven-bed sober home for men. Women and children can apply for Mountain Vista.
Snowheights is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Unlike many transitional housing, here, you can live for the rest of your life as long as you aren’t using and pay your share of the weekly expenses.
The first step is to go to the website to find house openings. If there’s room, you’ll apply online by filling out a quick form. They ask for basic contact details and what gender and what city you are looking for. Then, you’ll go to interviews at your chosen house or nearby houses as well.
Once you are approved, you get to move in. While Oxford House is the network that organizes these drug-free homes, each one is self-run. You and the other residents figure out chores, house upkeep, groceries and meals in a way that works for you.
