About PAAR Center – Porterville
Located in Porterville, California, the PAAR Center is an alcohol and drug rehab that serves adults. Their levels of care include residential rehab and outpatient services with transitional housing for those who need it. They serve men and women in separate facilities.
The residential programs are based on the Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous philosophy. They use the social model of recovery to inform their treatment. You’ll learn about addiction and how to prevent relapse in group discussions and lectures that are supported by educational media. Topics include anger, stress, and how to manage their medications. The length of the program is 90 days.
After completing the 90-day program, those who do not have a sober living environment to return to can access transitional housing through PAAR. The transitional housing service that the PAAR Center operates is a sober living environment in a group setting that supports people in early recovery in staying drug and alcohol-free.
In accordance with the social model of recovery, their program is community-based. Much of the programming is held at the Drop-In Center and is accessible by residents and community members alike. Peer support groups such as AA and NA as well as many educational groups are available to community members on an outpatient basis. They also provide individual counseling services and support clients in accessing community resources.
They accept insurance. Check with your carrier to verify coverage and what out-of-network benefits you have. Private pay is also accepted.
