About PAAR Center – Drop In Center And Sobering Station – Porterville
The PAAR Center is focused on helping adults with substance use issues achieve lasting recovery to live a meaningful and productive life. PAAR Center has multiple facilities across California offering community focused addiction treatment at various levels of care. The Drop-In Center Sobering Station at 509 N El Granito St in Porterville is four bed residential recovery program for men. It serves as an extension of the 16 beds Main House program at 232 W Belleview Ave.
Porterville is in Tulare County in the central part of California’s San Joaquin Valley. It is known for its closeness to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The facility is situated a short distance from Porterville’s city center. Although not in a bustling downtown area, the location offers easy access to local amenities.
Their nearness to Highway 65 offers easy driving access from Visalia, Fresno and Tulare. Natural attractions like the Sierra Nevada Mountain and Lake Success present a good spot to explore during recreational activities while onsite.
On its own, the facility offers a homely and welcoming space where recovery can take place without distraction. They provide access to well balanced meals, comfortable beds and recreational or community activities. This allows you to focus on becoming clean and sober while onsite. They adopt a social model of care centered on the AA/NA self help group. This is supplemented by educational materials, lectures and group classes.
Some of the major groups include problem solving, medication awareness and family education or awareness. These resources equip you with the tools to understand, treat and heal from substance use. They also offer anger/stress management courses, domestic violence counseling and community outreach. The program lasts 90 days, during which you must achieve your recovery goals as stipulated in your custom care plan. The facility accepts insurance and sliding fee scale payments. This lets you pay according to your income.
