About Pathway House – Rochester
Pathway to Parenthood is now Pathway House. They’re located in suburban Rochester, Minnesota, not too far away from St. Mary’s Park. They provide transitional living and support for chemically dependent adult women. They provide a sober support system while showing residents how to make healthy life choices, find a job, improve relationships, and take on more responsibility. There’s another center on 2nd Street for men.
Through AA, they strive to help you to return to a place of good emotional, physical, mental and spiritual health and have a successful re-entry into the community. Their main focus here is on the potential for relapse or continued use and recovery in your home environment.
They help with co-occurring disorders like mental or behavioral health issues such as self defeating behaviors and coping skills, along with learning acceptance and triggers. They’ll help with housing and legal problems, too, and you’re expected to have a safe and sober place to live when you’re done with the program.
Here, they want you to have an active role in developing your program and recovery. They factor in any abuse or neglect you may have experienced when choosing a plan of action and your counselor will regularly go over your progress with you during your stay.
You’ll get 16 hours of group sessions plus individual counseling every week. They have 24/7 supervised care and a licensed counselor is always on call. They provide peer support, and collateral services and they do crisis interventions, as well as drug and alcohol testing.
It’s a 90-day program, but the length of stay may differ depending on your needs and goals and there’s a cook onsite. You can work, go to school or volunteer while you’re here too.
What I really like about this program is that it focuses on giving you the best environment to recover and heal while getting you ready to be successful when you return to daily life.
