Peace Way Counseling is a mental health facility located in Valdosta, Georgia. They offer counseling and classes to people who have been charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. They treat people who have been diagnosed with mental health conditions and addiction issues at the same time.
This place is staffed with counselors who can talk to you about anything that is troubling you including substance use disorder. They will provide an intake assessment that will determine the best method of therapy to treat you.
Most people with substance use disorders are treated with a type of behavioral therapy. This therapeutic method is designed to teach you to think differently in order to stop participating in behaviors that hurt you. You may also participate in group therapy sessions where you will find peer support.
The main thing this center provides for people with addiction issues is a DUI program. If you are a Georgia driver who has been convicted of DUI, your sentence will include having to take a DUI class. If you have been charged with DUI and are awaiting trial, taking a DUI class may reduce your sentence.
Peace Way takes part in Georgia’s Risk Reduction Program. The classes emphasize knowledge of and complacency with DUI laws. You will learn about the effects of substances on your ability to make decisions. You will also see the effect that DUI-related accidents have on others.
The course is 20 hours long. The classes are normally offered over the course of two weekends. They charge $360 for the program.
