About Pennsylvania Counseling Services – Carlisle
Pennsylvania Counseling Services is dedicated to supporting clients of all ages with their mental and behavioral health. They do so using various treatment methods and have seen such success that they’ve expanded to 26 mental health and addiction treatment clinics in 11 counties across South Central Pennsylvania. This particular facility is based in suburban Carlisle and accepts medical assistance, Medicare, TRICARE, and many other private insurance plans.
Formerly known as Pennsylvania Psychological Services, this center was founded back in 1983. They boast decades of experience helping people struggling through some of the toughest times of their lives.
The center’s outpatient addiction treatment services are available to teens aged 18 and older, and adults. Here, clients can access individual, group, and couples’ therapy, and psychiatric services. Individuals with concurrent mental or behavioral health issues are also accommodated. For those in need of treatment for more severe substance abuse, intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are available. Medication management services are also available.
The center also provides family therapy to support younger family members in processing traumatic experiences, while feeling heard and understood through conversation. Behavioral rehab services may involve treatment styles like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), Christian and spiritual counseling as well as play therapy. Psychiatric evaluations are also available.
Speaking of play, if a family outing sounds good and you need to stretch your legs between sessions, Carlisle offers some greenspaces to unwind. Seven Gables Park is just down the street, and Letort Spring Run Nature Trail Trailhead is just beyond that.
