About PEP Willow Creek Day Treatment Center – Grafton
If you’re the parent of a child with a mental health condition, you know that school can be tough. That’s why the Willow Creek Day Treatment Center, located in Grafton, Ohio, exists. It operates as part of the state’s Positive Education Program, or PEP for short. This is an outpatient mental health treatment center that also doubles as an alternative school for kids between the ages of five and 22.
While in the day treatment, your child will participate in daily counseling sessions and life skills training. They’ll also attend age appropriate school courses with a small class of their peers. I’ve discovered that one of the best parts about this center is the only put a handful of students with each teacher. This way, you can rest assured that your child is getting individualized care.
The goal of this program is to make sure young adults get the help they need during the most formative years of their lives. Their teachers aren’t only educators. They’re also mental health experts who know how to weave hands on learning with evidence based therapies and interventions.
I like their belief that each child should experience some kind of joy every day, no matter how hard their situation or struggles might be. Their program helps them find hope and builds resiliency, which can strengthen entire families.
