About Perimeter of Missouri – Waynesville
Perimeter Behavioral of Missouri used to be called Piney Ridge Center. They’re based in Waynesville, Missouri. They have residential care and outpatient programs for adolescents, ages 13 to 18, who have behavioral health issues.
The residential care center has 96 beds. Their program is oriented around socialization with peers to build confidence and to reduce trauma. You’ll meet with counselors in individual and group therapy multiple times per week, have meetings with family members, and go to school at a nearby campus.
There are special tracks for teens with specific behavioral needs. One track addresses sexual aggression in teenage boys to curb hostile behavior. You’ll learn about empathy and expressing yourself in a more holistic way. Trust interventions are also available for youths who are at risk. You’ll learn how to cope in healthy ways to curb behavioral tendencies before they escalate.
A transitional program is also available if you complete the residential program but need more support. You’ll live and work in a setting that resembles a home, have responsibilities to help run the house, and develop life skills. That way, you’ll be more independent and self reliant when you go back to your community.
