About Phelps Hospital – Sleepy Hollow

Northwell Phelps Hospital is in Sleepy Hollow, New York, and is a full medical center that cares for the body and the mind with state-of-the-art facilities and highly trained staff. They have a large and comprehensive mental health, addiction and behavioral health department that provides inpatient psychiatry beds for adults, a large outpatient treatment program for all ages, and an inpatient substance abuse program for patients who are 19 years of age or older. This is provided by the behavioral rehabilitation unit. They don’t provide detox on their addiction unit.

There are nine listed psychiatrists who work with patients at the Phelps Hospital. There’s also a large team of professionals from mental health nurses to social workers to occupational therapists and nutritionists.
The inpatient psychiatric unit has 22 beds available for those who are struggling with acute emotional or mental health issues requiring 24-hour care. This includes geriatric patients who are struggling with dementia or other conditions.
There’s another inpatient unit for addiction treatment. They both offer individual and group therapy, medication management, various evidence-based treatment options, and occupational therapy to help provide the best quality of life to every patient, regardless of diagnosis.
Outpatient treatment for mental health and addiction is how most of your treatment is delivered. There are many different therapists and mental health programs to address issues that patients may face. Group therapies, educational and psychoeducational workshops are offered, and home healthcare management are available in the community and on an out-patient basis. It all depends on a patient’s needs and situation.
Northwell Phelps Hospital accepts most health insurance plans. There are often charges that patients are responsible for, even with insurance. Levels of Care

12-Step

12 step programs such as Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous are support group style programs for individuals who are experiencing alcohol or substance use disorder. At Evoke they use a holistic model of addiction care that includes using 12 step programs. These programs are an integral part of most relapse prevention plans and provide continued support and accountability that support sobriety.

24-Hour Clinical Care

24 hour clinical care provides close medical supervision for individuals in the early stages of recovery. Medical professionals monitor individuals around the clock for complications and provide immediate intervention when needed.

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use.
