About Phoenix Counseling Center – Shelby
Phoenix Counseling Center has a clinic in Shelby, North Carolina. It’s an outpatient office for adults who have drug and alcohol addictions. They have two levels of care, depending on the severity of your conditions.
The intensive outpatient program is the less extensive service of the two. It requires nine hours of treatment per week, with sessions running three hours each. It’s a blend of individual and group counseling, education classes, and workshops. You’ll learn about addictions, get tips on how to safely cope with anger and stress, and learn to empathize with others. You can also build life skills and get coached to find steady work. This program can also be suitable for teens. It runs about 8-12 weeks.
If your condition is more serious, you’ll be placed in the comprehensive outpatient track. This is for adults only and requires 20 hours per week with sessions running four hours long. They’ll tackle your underlying health disorders, offer family resources and support, and work on crisis planning should a relapse occur. If your symptoms are more acute, they’ll refer you to an inpatient or recovery program at another Phoenix location.
