About Pioneer Recovery Center – Cloquet
Pioneer Recovery center is an inpatient residential alcohol and drug rehab center for women. Located in the Northwoods of Michigan near Cloquet, it offers a comfortable, home-like environment where clients can receive individualized care and round-the-clock support. They know people are much more than their addiction and that substance use is often a response to trauma and other challenges. Clients at this facility can expect to receive comprehensive treatment that addresses the social, emotional, environmental and spiritual facets of substance use.
Clients receive individual and group therapy tailored to their needs. Research suggests group sessions are beneficial as they can help people feel less alone. These are also an opportunity to learn from and help others facing similar challenges. The facility offers a few different groups focused on different themes like developing secure attachments, Seeking Safety and overcoming shame. There’s also a group that applies a feminine lens to the 12-step model which contains quite a bit of male-centric language. All of these groups apply strategies based on empirical evidence.
The staff at Pioneer Recovery are trauma-informed, meaning they have undergone specialized training to care for people who have endured emotional and physical violence and other traumatizing events. They understand the complex ways such experiences can affect a person’s brain and how they interact with the world. Treatments are designed to help people address their trauma and its impact without becoming triggered or retraumatized.
There are 11 bedrooms at this facility with two clients per room. They take same-day admissions for new clients who don’t need detox assistance and meet ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria.
Most feedback for this facility is quite positive. One former client says it’s an amazing place for help with all mental health issues. Many clients praise the staff for being compassionate, respectful and professional and say they appreciate the accepting, communal atmosphere.
