About Port of Hope Centers – Coeur d'Alene

Port of Hope Centers had three nonprofit drug and alcohol treatment centers, of which this was one in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They provided several services as a certified nonprofit organization where you could receive affordable treatment from experienced and trained mental health professionals. Unfortunately, this location has now closed, but Port of Hope still has locations in Boise and Nampa.

They offered screening and assessment here to help determine your needs and identify a substance abuse problem. This information allowed the staff to create a customized plan for your situation and needs. Treatment may have started with social detoxification, which was a non-medical environment where you would have the support of knowledgeable professionals to help you through withdrawal.

No medications were used but there was nearby medical assistance should the need arise. Their intensive residential treatment program provided a home like environment where you stayed for 90 days while attending therapy sessions and educational classes. The length of your stay depended on your initial comprehensive assessment.

Once you completed the residential portion of your recovery journey, they offered an intensive outpatient program that included required classes and professional counseling. You could also begin your program in the intensive outpatient program when your assessment indicated this level of care was best for your treatment.

They offered driving under the influence – DUI – evaluation services that met court mandated assessments and provided DUI education classes to help understand the consequences of your choices.

Individual and group counseling sessions were available on site in a positive and safe environment where you could receive support and hope from others who were in similar situations.

They began as a sober living environment in 1971. As a non-profit organization they depended on the community’s support to be able to provide low cost treatment to people who need it most.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
