They offer a range of comprehensive services for Portage County residents to help them overcome barriers to being fully independent. These services might include supported housing, supported employment, medical education, counseling and practical skill training and rehabilitation. The Community Support Program helps when you’re experiencing severe symptoms of mental illness so you become empowered in your recovery and become independent. These services can include case management, psychiatric care, and intensive medication management. They also offer outpatient counseling and psychiatric care to support you during your recovery from addiction to drugs or alcohol.
Portage House is a community residential program that offers group and individual services to men with substance abuse, anger management, childhood trauma, and other challenges that might contribute to being involved with the criminal justice system. Most of the residents have committed a crime and may have obligations with the criminal justice system. Their residential program was designed in cooperation with the Department of Corrections to help reduce the risk of recidivism. Participants learn independent living skills in a safe and supportive environment where they also have access to health assessments, 24-hour supervision, recreation and community activities.
