About Portage Path Behavioral Health – Cuyahoga Falls

Portage Path Behavioral Health, located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, provides a full continuum of mental health and substance use treatment programs to serve the needs of the community. One of the uniquely great services they offer is a Mobile Therapy Center (MTC). This is a 35-foot RV intended to deliver mental health screenings and services to the underserved areas of the region within Summit County. This innovative vehicle is kitted with a private room, maintaining confidentiality for mental health assessments and more.

The MTC is funded by private donors and foundations. It removes barriers like stigma and language differences to make mental health care more available. The center is free to hold community events and may be scheduled by businesses, organizations or places of worship to assist with their member’s mental health.

The MTC includes a friendly waiting area and a private consultation room where licensed clinicians conduct screenings for depression and other assessments. This means people get professional, comfortable and safe care, all within their community.

In addition to mobile services, Portage Path has a robust outpatient program to enhance the quality of life by improving the mental health of its clients. Services offered range from individual therapy and group counseling to medication management and specialized treatment groups. One of them, the Pathways program, is a day treatment program at the Akron clinic that aims to provide clients an opportunity to decrease symptoms, achieve stability and learn how to cope with their particular mental illness.
The Maternal Opioid Medical Support (MOMS) clinic offers specialized support for mothers struggling with opioid dependence. Pregnant and postpartum women have unique needs that can be addressed through comprehensive care to promote maternal and child health.

Portage paths consists of a team of licensed therapists, counselors, medical professionals and support personnel who work hand-in-hand to provide tailored and loving care, They strive to restore hope and rebuild lives by making mental health and substance use care accessible and effective for all in the community.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
