About Portage Path Behavioral Health – Barberton
Known for the Serbian-American dish, “Barberton Chicken”, Barberton, Ohio is also home to Portage Path Behavioral Health. This outpatient treatment center welcomes adults battling mental health conditions, addiction and co-occurring disorders. You can access personalized care and multiple specialized programs to meet you where you are in recovery.
With outpatient care you can live at home and maintain daily commitments like work, school and family. Their programs offer small group and individual sessions in person or virtually. You can also access case management, psychiatry, peer support and more to help you reach your goals. These approaches help you get to the root of your addiction and develop coping skills to promote long-term recovery.
What stands out most to me is their MOMS clinic in Akron. Just a 15 minute drive away, this specialized track offers comprehensive care for women with high-risk pregnancies. You’ll benefit from quick access to care and connection to a compassionate recovery team including a case manager, individual counselor, and peer support. They’ll work together to help you reach recovery and connect you with essentials like clothing, housing, social services and more.
Another cool feature I noticed was their Mobile Therapy Center. They strive to address barriers to treatment like language and stigma by bringing behavioral health services to Summit County communities. This 35-ft RV provides a private space for mental health screenings and other services. Churches, business, organizations and more can request their services for free.
Lastly, their wide variety of groups caught my eye. You can participate in traditional sessions focused on building coping skills, addiction education, life skills and anger management. They also provide specialized groups. Each group is within 25 minutes from Barberton.
Of these groups, the Women’s Empowerment one really stood out. These sessions offer a tailored support system for women with PTSD and complex trauma. You’ll benefit from psychoeducation and skills training to overcome these challenges and support recovery.
