About Preferred Family Healthcare – Liberty
Just 30 minutes outside of Kansas City lies Preferred Family Healthcare in Liberty, Missouri. For over 40 years, this community-based healthcare organization has provided comprehensive care for adults, youth, and families experiencing addiction and mental health disorders. With over 100 locations, you can access detox, residential rehab, intensive outpatient programs, and specialized services to meet your recovery needs.
Their programs offer treatment best practices to meet you where you are in recovery. You’ll benefit from a customized treatment plan with your goals at the forefront. Depending on your unique situation, you can participate in group education and therapy, individual counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), case management, and more.
For me, their art therapy program really stood out. The Achieving Recovery, Resiliency & Responsibility Through Creativity (A.R.T.C) program welcomes people of all ages to express their emotions through creativity. They help you explore your feelings, develop self-awareness, and enhance communication skills by sharing your projects in individual and group sessions. You’ll benefit from a supportive environment to discover new healthy outlets and strengthen coping skills.
Another great feature I noticed was their Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program. You can access supportive employment to set yourself up for success in independent living and recovery. They work with you one-on-one to determine your needs, interests, and preferences to place you on the best career path. That way, you’ll leave treatment with the stability to maintain a healthy lifestyle and sobriety.
I also think it’s nice that they offer a Substance Awareness Traffic Offenders Program (SATOP) for adults and youth. This track helps you reinstate your license if you’ve been arrested for drug or alcohol related driving offenses. You’ll participate in an assessment to determine the best comprehensive education and treatment options for your situation.
