About Primary Health Choice – Sanford
Primary Health Choice is located in Sanford, North Carolina. This is a primary care clinic that serves adults and adolescents who are struggling with behavioral health challenges. They also provide support if you have a co-occurring substance use disorder. There are also specialized services for veterans as well here. Care is offered in an outpatient setting. They accept policies from most major insurance providers. They also accept Medicaid.
When you first seek services here, you’ll meet with a physician who will evaluate your behavioral health struggles. The appropriate diagnosis will be made if one doesn’t exist already. Any underlying or co-occurring substance use struggles you have will be identified and treated as well.
After your assessment, the appropriate treatment plan will be created for you based on your recovery needs. The outpatient program will provide you access to individual and group counseling sessions using approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Through this, you’ll learn how to identify triggers that have contributed to your substance struggles and how to best manage those triggers. You’ll also learn different coping strategies and techniques you can apply to your life to help manage negative emotions and thoughts of drug use.
Depending on your circumstances, medication management may be introduced into your treatment plan. Family therapy is also available here allowing your loved ones to learn how to best support you.
Peer support programs are also available here. These programs will connect you to a community of peers and mentors that you can lean on during the difficult parts of your recovery. You’ll work alongside a certified peer support specialist using a range of evidence-based approaches. This program also encourages self-advocacy, self-determination and other healthy habits that will help you maintain your sobriety both during and after your treatment.
