About Prodigal Ministries — McCauley House for Women – Crestwood
Prodigal Ministries McCauley House is a faith based transitional home for women released from incarceration in Crestwood, Kentucky. They have space for six women at a time which allows for close relationships and deep recovery work. This is a sober living home that women often step down into after completing some form of addiction treatment.
The women’s house is a beautifully restored historic building that provides all the comforts of home. Crestwood is a small, friendly suburb with parks and botanical gardens suitable for walking and getting fresh air. Getting exercise helps you regain your physical health and strength which often takes a back seat during times of addiction.
The home is founded on Christian principles and beliefs but they welcome all who want to change their lives. Their goal is to see each person find freedom from addictions and go on to live happy, healthy, productive lives.
While you’re here, you’ll have a safe home base to work from as you learn to live again and heal. You’ll have different get-togethers in the evenings such as faith and life skills, drug and alcohol counseling, and personal mentoring. The program is designed to help you discover who God created you to be and grow in wisdom. They’ll help you find joy and reasons to make the change to a healthier lifestyle.
The beauty of living in a therapeutic community is it gives you the chance to make new friends. You’ll learn the skills you need to repair broken relationships with loved ones. Living with others who’ve been through similar experiences gives you opportunities to support and encourage each other.
