Providence VAMC–New Bedford CBOC clinic offers outpatient treatment for substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders for veterans and their families. They’re located in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This is an outpatient facility.
Treatment is provided for substance abuse as well as mental health conditions such as anxiety, trauma, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
This facility offers medical care as well if needed. They may have same-day appointments available. If you require detox services or a more intensive recovery service then you may be referred to another location or facility.
They use evidence-based treatments and provide health maintenance and community support. They set up a program with you to help you reach your goals.
They offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) as needed for opioid use, alcohol use, and tobacco use. These medications are to help with your withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Residential rehabilitation treatment programs may be available as needed.
They also offer counseling services. They want to help your recovery along by addressing the root problem that made you turn to substances to begin with. They also assist you with homelessness and unemployment, if needed.
If you’re unable to attend therapy in person, they offer telehealth services and appointments.
Several clients have said that the staff is wonderful, very professional, and caring. It has been mentioned that the facility is in need of updating but the staff goes out of their way to help you.
They also have social workers who want to help you through whatever needs or concerns that you may have.
