About PSAP – Perinatal Substance Abuse Program – San Jose
Located in San Jose, California, PSAP – Perinatal Substance Abuse Program is a division of the County of Santa Clara Behavioral Health Services Department. They provide comprehensive outpatient drug rehab services to pregnant and parenting women who have alcohol or drug addiction, who have a substance exposed infant or who are attempting to regain child custody.
Their substance abuse outpatient treatment requires a referral. Intakes are also accepted on a walk-in basis. Once clients complete an intake, they are assigned a counselor. They will receive an appointment with their counselor for an assessment and appointments for individual and group counseling. Any necessary referrals for case management services, such as housing or employment assistance, psychiatric care or primary medical care will be accessed by the intake coordinator or the client’s counselor. Clients who need further mental health or addiction services will receive referrals.
PSAP accepts government funding. Many major insurers such as Aetna, Cigna, Humana and United Healthcare will cover some or all the costs of drug recovery services if they are determined to be medically necessary.
