About Ready, Willing & Able – Philadelphia
Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ready, Willing & Able provides transitional housing and recovery support to residents in the area. They can serve up to 50 men at a time. They offer a structured, supportive environment and services designed to help you transition from rehab treatment to everyday life. They offer a safe space where you can work toward full independence over the course of nine to 12 months, depending on your needs. The program focuses on living in recovery while working, which in turn will help you rebuild a normal lifestyle and gain the confidence you need to thrive.
As a resident you’ll have daily routines, nutritious meals, spaces for recreational activities and a strong community with your peers. You can practice developing habits of financial responsibility while preparing for living independently. The mantra they use often states that “work works.”
They have a community improvement program, which sees their participants as “the men in blue.” They engage in community work such as cleaning the streets and doing landscaping projects, which contributes to the Philadelphia neighborhoods. These jobs help build the skills needed for real work like punctuality, teamwork and accountability. It also gives you a needed sense of pride, purpose and financial self sufficiency.
They partner with the Philadelphia Department of Commerce and local organizations to make an even greater impact with their program. They also have services that help participants transition to independent housing.
