Recovery Happens Counseling Services is a private substance abuse and mental health recovery facility in Sacramento, California, east of the American River. They utilize outpatient programs to help clients at all stages of treatment and recovery. They serve adult clients.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the most intensive form of day treatment. Clients typically meet at the facility five days a week for lengthy sessions. PHP focuses on individual and group therapy combined with mindfulness and resilience practice.

This final level of care is for clients who demonstrate stability and an understanding of the therapeutic and recovery principles they were introduced to at previous levels. As clients prepare to exit the program, they focus on relapse prevention strategies.

Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of prescription medication to assist in treatment. MAT is utilized alongside traditional therapy for maximum efficiency.

When a client has multiple diagnoses such as these, the symptoms often worsen one another, making recovery difficult.
