About Recovery Houses of Rochester – Rochester
Serving the community of Rochester, New York, Recovery Houses of Rochester offer several sober living homes for men recovering from substance abuse. At two locations in the city of Rochester, residents can engage in peer support, weekly house meetings and create an individual living plan. It’s important to know that these sober houses do not offer clinical services. Most residents are men of color.
While residing at the Recovery Houses of Rochester, you’ll be encouraged to use their Individual Living Plan which includes individual goals and a plan for abstinence from substances.
For the first 30 days, you’ll attend an orientation group to become familiar with the expectations and get any questions answered. While living on site, you’ll participate in weekly house meetings and community based support groups like AA or NA.
You’ll also be encouraged to attend faith programs, reentry support and outpatient treatment sessions if needed. If you return to substance use while living in the house then you’ll be asked to leave. Once you regain abstinence you can return to the house. Volunteers and staff will work with you to create your own pathway to recovery.
The goals for all residents are to reunite with immediate and extended family members and find gainful employment. Recovery Houses of Rochester also collaborate with local behavioral health system networks to assist residents with more intensive services if they need them.
A former resident said that this organization helped him get off the street. He also said they helped him become who he always wanted to be.
