About Region 8 Mental Health Services – Brookhaven
Region 8’s Lincoln County Mental Health Services is in Brookhaven, Mississippi. They’re an organization that provides drug and alcohol treatment to adults. Clients can receive assistance through the intensive outpatient program (IOP), aftercare services, and substance abuse prevention services. Family treatment and care for children and youth who are dealing with psychological and emotional challenges are also available.
The facility is staffed with various healthcare professionals, including therapists, physicians and case managers. They strive to provide services to clients with compassion and respect to their dignity and the dignity of their family members.
When clients participate in outpatient treatment, they can expect staff members to provide them with support and tools for change. The facility aims to help individuals be able to live a healthy lifestyle again.
The intensive outpatient programs hold their treatment sessions at night to avoid any conflict with a client’s job or daytime obligations. Clients will receive educational lectures as well as group, family and individual therapy. Outpatient group meetings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m.
The outpatient program is conducted in three phases, with one phase focusing on the detrimental effects of substance abuse on health, families and careers. At Region 8, children and youth can receive education on alcohol and drug prevention and intervention. Additionally, in the day treatment program, they can learn positive self esteem building, anger management and behavioral modification techniques to achieve their best level of functioning.
The thing I like most about this facility is their Family Treatment Services program. It teaches family members how to best take care of themselves as well as skills for assisting their loved ones in recovering from addiction.
