One unique thing about this facility is it provides a nonmedical detox service to help clients through withdrawal. No medications will be used to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and staff members will provide around the clock monitoring, assessment and support. This service is ideal for patients who are not at risk of developing life threatening withdrawal symptoms. When patients move on to residential care, they are provided alcohol and drug education, life skills training and individual and group counseling. Most clients will be in the program for about 30 days. Patients will also receive help developing their continuing care support systems to turn to after they complete treatment.
The outpatient program allows patients to receive treatment while still maintaining their regular school or work schedule. Some of the evidence based treatments that may be used to treat patients include cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. The peer connections program provides patients with a person who has recovered from addiction and can offer support. Additional activities that clients may participate in to help with recovery include meditation, arts and crafts and nature walks.
