About Renewal, Inc – Pittsburgh
Renewal is a nonprofit mental health and addiction treatment center located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They provide treatment programs for adults, including those with a criminal history. Available programs include non-hospital inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, and aftercare support. Dedicated services are available for clients with co-occurring conditions.
Renewal’s Inpatient Program is a non-hospital program. An in depth evaluation and assessment will be the first entry point. Once this is completed, a treatment plan will be created that takes into consideration your personal needs. Evidence based approaches to treating addiction, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, are utilized to support transformation. Interactive workbooks and daily journals are a significant part of the treatment process and encouraged to continue post discharge. Individual counseling, group therapy, and educational information will be implemented throughout the stay.
Their outpatient program provides treatment for those in the criminal justice system, as well as for those without a criminal history. This program focuses on assessment, group therapy, and individual counseling. As this program is a step down and clients return home in the evening, it’s encouraged to build up a network of external support. Mentoring programs, 12 Steps, life skills training, and spiritual programs are available options for continued care.
The 12 Step program is a common recovery model based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a plan for recovery based on faith. Middle steps include self examination and making amends to those who’ve been hurt by the addiction. The later steps include continuing to take personal inventory while living a life of recovery and supporting others in doing the same. Additional 12 Step groups include Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA), Gamblers Anonymous (GA), to name a few.
Renewal may be in-network with most major insurance providers. Speak with your individual provider to verify your coverage as out of network benefits could vary.
