About Ridge House – Reno
Located in Reno, ‘The Biggest Little City in the World,’ Ridge House provides residential and outpatient drug rehab services for men ages 18 and older. Reno is known for its strong community and outdoor opportunities. It’s a great place to make a fresh start. Whether you’re experiencing substance use issues or you have dual diagnoses, you’ll find support here for recovery. They have five residential homes with one house dedicated to caring for veterans.
Depending on the type of treatment you need, they accept several types of payments. For both inpatient and outpatient services, you can use Medicaid, Anthem and Health Plan of Nevada with no co-pay. They work with a few private insurance providers, including Anthem Commercial, United and Sheet Metal Workers. If you use private insurance then there’s usually a co-pay or deductible.
Ridge House began in 1982 when volunteers from Kairos Prison Ministry saw the need for more than just prison care. They realized people leaving prison needed real help to rebuild their lives. They opened the first house on Ridge Street in downtown Reno, right between Court and Liberty. The location perfectly symbolizes their mission. Ridge House has remained the bridge that helps men transition from incarceration to independence, but they help any adult male with substance use and mental health issues.
Whether you need residential or outpatient treatment, you’ll spend several hours each week in both individual and group counseling. Group counseling might sound intimidating but it’s just a bunch of guys working toward the same goal. You’ll hear stories that make you realize you’re not alone. Group sessions are structured and guided by professional counselors with no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with.
What makes this place different is the workforce development program. They make sure you’re ready to land a job when you finish treatment. You’ll get help with job skills, your resume, and help filling out job applications. Participating in life skills counseling helps you learn how to manage money, communicate better and build stronger relationships. You’ll even get help to find stable and affordable housing after treatment.
This is a place where men can not only recover but also rebuild with programs that focus on real-world skills, strong community support and a fresh start.
