Rio Grande – Alcoholism Treatment Program provides quality, low cost and culturally competent outpatient treatment for substance misuse. Rio Grande ATP offers various levels of outpatient care based on the ASAM criteria. This includes early intervention, general outpatient (OP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP). You’ll undergo in depth assessment during intake to help their staff determine the level of care that will suit your unique condition. Assessment also helps in creating personalized care planning that works for you.
Early intervention involves education and counseling geared towards avoiding progression to more serious substance use issues. Both OP and IOP are recovery focused. The IOP is suitable if you require a considerable level of support for moderate substance misuse. It is a highly structured program involving more intense therapy. You can expect over nine hours of group sessions alongside weekly individual counseling and addiction education.
IOP also addresses co-occurring disorders and other life challenges. OP typically serves as a step down from IOP. It is more flexible and requires less than nine hours of therapy weekly.
The facility integrates evidence based techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and 12 step facilitation into their broader program. They also offer trauma informed care to help people process past trauma that often contributes to substance misuse. Their therapy group cuts across moral reconation therapy, women’s and gender specific groups. Specialized relapse prevention, life skills and anger management classes are available.
The programs also involve compliance monitoring and random drug testing to ensure you’re making progress. Other services here include screening, clinical assessments and referrals for individuals in hospitals and jails. They also provide risk evaluation, need assessment and family/ couple counseling. Their wraparound care encompasses case management. Your case manager will link you to community resources to support your recovery. This may range from help with finding low cost housing for the homeless to job placement for the unemployed.
