About Riverside County Department of Mental Health – Blythe
The Riverside County Department of Mental Health – Blythe Mental Health Clinic is a treatment center that is strengthening the Riverside County community with vital mental health care including drug and alcohol addiction treatment. As a county organization they specifically serve residents of the county but they offer services for adults and adolescents of any gender.
This facility offers care for every stage of the recovery journey. They offer inpatient detox that helps you clear your body of drugs and alcohol in a safe way that is as comfortable as possible. After detox you’ll transition into whatever type of treatment program is most suited for you. They offer residential treatment or outpatient treatment. There’s an intensive outpatient program too which basically splits the difference so you have a heavy treatment schedule but you’re still living at home.
In many cases these various levels of care will work as a step down system for you. For example after detox you will probably start in the residential program. As you develop in your sobriety you’ll transition into the IOP and eventually into the traditional outpatient care.
At each level of the program they use evidence based treatments like group therapy and counseling. They also offer medications for opioid addiction that can help lower your cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
What stood out to me most about this treatment center is the program for pregnant clients or clients caring for young children though. Not only do they have a special program that addresses the unique needs and circumstances of these clients in recovery but they even allow kids up to age five to come with you to treatment. That’s the case for both residential and outpatient treatment.
