About RUSH Outpatient Psychiatry – Westgate – Chicago
The Community Behavioral Health Program is at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. They have mental and behavioral health care for children, teens, and adults. Across the city, they work with local healthcare facilities, religious centers, and community groups to help clients find care. Video and phone therapy options are available.
They mostly serve people who get government help with paying for mental health care. They also help those who have complex mental health needs and limited access to care. They collaborate with local groups, including faith based nonprofits, advocacy teams, and school-based healthcare centers. Once someone reaches out to them, they’ll assess their needs and route them to the appropriate resources.
If they recommend outpatient clinical services, there are professionals who can give that treatment at the Center. Their treatment programs incorporate dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, problem solving therapy, and motivational interviewing. Some clients only need a few weeks of treatment while others participate for several months.
Other services offered through this program include initial screenings, recovery focused educational programming, evidence based intervention models, and referrals to outside providers. They also train local healthcare providers to deliver public mental health services, including medication assisted treatment.
