About Salvation Army – Harbor Light Alcohol Center – Monroe
Monroe Harbor Light is an alcohol treatment program for adults provided through the Salvation Army in Monroe, Michigan. They offer medical detox services, residential treatment, and outpatient treatment for anyone who’s struggling to overcome alcohol addiction.
Something that strikes me about this facility is that they offer a complete continuum of care. They won’t just treat the symptoms of your addiction. Instead, they’ll help you get to the bottom of it so you can address the underlying issues that are driving you to drink. Some of the services you can participate in include mental health counseling, spiritual care, peer counseling, and case management. They can also connect you with local 12 Step recovery programs, including Alcoholics Anonymous.
Their medical detox process takes about three to five days and includes the use of FDA approved addiction medications. They prescribe Suboxone and Vivitrol to help alleviate your pain and control your cravings. If you need round the clock monitoring while you recover, you can enroll in their residential program. They offer a 30 day and 90 day program and both include counseling, peer support and medication.
One former client said they were very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. Another said the therapists were kind and understanding.
