About Samuel Field YM and YWHA – Elderly Program – Little Neck
The Samuel Field YM & YWHA center began as the Young Hebrew Women’s Association and Young Hebrew Men’s Association. The organization merged with Commonpoint, a nonprofit state funded, social services organization and is now recognized as the Sam Field Center. It’s located on Little Neck Parkway in Little Neck, New York. Sam Field Center provides a variety of social and mental health programming at over 80 locations across the state.
The Sam Field Center houses a variety of programs covering the full spectrum of ages. These include an early childhood center with daycare and preschool, an afterschool program that picks children up from school, youth sports classes and clinics, and summer day camp.
The Sam Field Older Adult Center is available for persons over 60. Discount memberships to athletic clubs and pools are available. You may also want to explore discounts that apply to retirement communities.
The outpatient mental health clinic located at the Sam Field Center is part of the greater Council on Addiction Prevention and Education (CAPE) funding program. The CAPE clinic provides individual, marital, family therapy and grief groups in person or via telehealth. Psychiatric evaluations and medication monitoring by licensed social and medical practitioners is also available. The early memory loss, dementia care program provides an adult day center for respite to family members caring for loved ones at homes. CAPE also offers in-home services if you have mobility barriers preventing you from getting to the clinic.
You’ll feel welcomed here and you can feel like part of your community. The facility is open Sunday through Friday and closed on Saturday to honor the traditional Jewish roots that built the organization. Services are provided in a variety of languages to include the cosmopolitan population of the Queens borough.
