About SCAN – Serving Children and Adults in Need – Youth Recovery Home – Harlingen
Serving Children and Adults in Need, Inc. (SCAN) provides mental health and addiction treatment services for youth ages 13-17 and adults in Laredo, Texas. They offer residential and outpatient treatment that includes case management. A sliding scale is available for fees, and if you have insurance they can help you use it to pay for care.
There are four different Recovery homes that are gender and age specific. The goal is to make recovery safe and supportive, free from distractions. Services are typical and include counseling, case management, addiction education, and relapse prevention. The program starts with an intensive phase with more treatment hours and then transitions to allow you to focus on learning life skills and finding work so you can transition to living independently.
For those who graduate from residential treatment, or who are more medically stable when they begin, there are outpatient services. They meet a few hours a week and include counseling and group classes. If you are living with HIV/AIDS or have been a victim of a crime, there are specialized programs for you. The organization also has peer based recovery and a drop in center.
