About Serenity Hall Talbert House – Hamilton

Serenity Hall in Hamilton, Ohio was a halfway house that supported formerly incarcerated individuals who were transitioning back into the community after completing their sentence. The halfway house had dedicated addiction recovery services, helping former inmates build skills for success after incarceration. Unfortunately, due to a loss of state funding, the Serenity Hall halfway house shut down its operations permanently.

Although this Serenity Hall is closed, its operator Talbert House is still open. Through Talbert House, people from all walks of life including adolescents and families can get access to services that will help them with their substance use and mental health struggles.

One of the major benefits of the Serenity Hall halfway house was the educational and vocational support services they offered. These were programs that would have helped you build life skills and job readiness skills so that you could find and maintain gainful employment. For example, there were programs including adult education classes so that clients could complete their GED.

Some individuals were supported with employment partnerships and through monitored community employment and structured social activities. Through these services, you would have been able to build the relevant skills needed to reintegrate back into society.

One of the biggest focuses of this halfway house was helping formerly incarcerated individuals develop the skills to help minimize their chance of relapse and offending. They did this through supportive addiction treatment from Talbert House. Talbert House offered and continues to offer outpatient substance use treatment as well as counseling for co occurring mental health struggles.

To help further minimize the risk of relapse there was targeted support through case management services and criminal behavior modification. The aim was to help offenders combat negative behaviors that push them towards the criminal justice system in the first place.

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
