About Sieda – Ottumwa
Sieda Behavioral Health and Treatment Services in Ottumwa, Iowa, provides alcohol and drug addiction and mental health treatment services to children, adolescents and adults impacted by substance abuse. Their outpatient programs include medication assisted treatment and both intensive and extended outpatient programs.
Sieda holds several group counseling and support sessions weekly, including a Seeking Safety Group and co-occurring group services. Their intensive outpatient program provides over nine hours of treatment per week. Sieda services are available for individuals, groups, couples and families.
Partnering with United Community Services Healthcare, Sieda offers outpatient medically assisted treatment to reduce the physical cravings for alcohol, opioids and other substances. Through a combination of prescription medication and counseling, Sieda offers a program designed to help clients achieve and maintain sobriety.
One thing that sets Sieda apart is that it’s part of the private nonprofit Sieda Community Action, working in Iowa to serve poverty impacted communities. That means Sieda’s work improves outcomes in the community as well as the individual. Certified substance abuse counselors serve on teams in the Wapello County Drug Courts to reduce both addiction and justice involvement.
Another interesting thing about Sieda is that they also offer support and treatment for disordered gambling, including crisis counseling, assessment services and ongoing counseling for individuals, couples and families.
