About Sitike Counseling Center – South San Francisco

Sitike Counseling Center is a community based outpatient provider for adults and adolescents in South San Francisco, California. They provide programs that focus on mental health, violence and substance use. They also provide drug testing for the local court system as needed.

Their program, Discover Recovery, is a three to 12 month outpatient program for adult men and women with co-occurring disorders. This program provides education on addiction and mental health as well as group therapy and individual counseling. Clients attend two to four times per week based on their needs.

They offer a Women’s Intensive Day Treatment Program. Women attend 3-5 days per week for 4 hours a day. Women in this program engage in individual and group counseling as well as psychoeducational groups that address topics such as women’s health, parenting and vocational rehab. This program is a minimum of three months to a maximum of one year.

They offer DUI classes for first time offenders. They have a 12, 32, 45, or 60 hour program to meet the court’s requirement for education. These groups are available Monday through Friday. Self pay is the method of payment for these classes.

They also offer classes focused on anger management and domestic violence. Each program has its own hourly requirement, but it consists of group counseling with an emphasis on trauma. These classes are approved for the San Mateo County Probation Department.

They work with adolescents by providing a three or four program that educates on alcohol and drug use, impulse management and the informed decision making process.

The counseling center accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. However, they also have a self pay option. Contact your insurance provider to verify coverage because out of network benefits can vary.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
